How We Research and Write
What guides the research and writing on these pages.
Approach
Our writing approach
Every page is written from scratch for people facing fire damage in Houston. The goal is to explain what usually happens and what to ask, not to promote a company.
Facts come from public sources such as federal agencies, the American Red Cross, the National Weather Service and Texas state agencies. Pages list their sources, and numbered markers in the text link claims to them.
We write for readers who may be tired, stressed and reading on a phone in a hotel room. That means short sections, clear headings, tables where they help compare options, and no padding. Local details about Houston, such as humidity, storm season, housing types and Texas agencies, are included only where they change what a reader should do.
Limits
Things we will not publish
We do not publish made-up reviews, ratings, licence numbers, years in business, response-time promises or anything else we cannot confirm. Contractors reached by phone are independent and are never presented as our staff.
Nothing here is legal, insurance, medical or engineering advice. If a source moves or disappears, we swap in a current source for the same point or rewrite the sentence. We keep answers short and put the most useful part first.
Images
Images and fixing mistakes
Images are AI-generated illustrations made for this site and do not show real homes, jobs or people.
We review pages when their sources change. To report an error, call the number on the site and say it concerns the website. The site is run by Muhammad Aamir Siddiqui.
